happy happy birthday EZ breezy!

EZ turned FIVE last Friday and we celebrated hard all weekend long. He woke up to donuts and balloons and presents (new lightsaber! legos! pink soccer cleats!) and then we took him to Cowabunga Bay with 2 of his cousins Ryder & Sierra. Later that night Matt took him to Father/Son's campout and they had a superb time (especially walking around in the dark with a flashlight & shooting off rockets.) Then on Saturday he watched his current fave show Pokemon and we had Grandpa and Bibi over for dinner, then we threw a big Star Wars party complete with lightsaber necklaces, jedi obstacle course, and then a chaotic lightsaber battle. Phew. Writing it all out makes me feel tired again. And now we're in the post birthday hangover where I feel like we went too big & he's spoiled and we're doing a dis-service because he's not going to value anything ever again because he has too many toys etc etc ;) I know he's going to be grateful and sweet, but sometimes we all forget how to behave our best when we've had too much spoiling. And it's a good reminder that I am done with parties and grandiose stuff for at least a few years! When we were putting him to bed after his party he said "That was the BEST party ever" and then followed it shortly with "I sure will miss my four year old days" like in the most angelic nostalgic voice. You have a good heart & a good head on your shoulders, my EZ Red. And he says thank you all the time unprompted so we really can feel the gratitude. LOVE YOU, big 5 year old!!

Here's a video of the party! Followed by soooo pictures from the last few days.
