I suddenly had a free day yesterday with lunch already packed (we had some plans cancel), so I took the boys up to Snowbird because I just needed to be in the mountains and near some quiet. Do you ever feel like it's never quiet enough? I feel like that a lot (except right now while I'm writing this... because both my children have been asleep for 2.5 hours and I've been lounging and working and just sitting here in the solitude and quiet and it's been superb.)
So we drove 20 minutes up the canyon and spent four hours in the mountains. I pushed the stroller on a "hike" nature walk which they seemed to mostly enjoy except for in the pictures they sure don't seem like it (but Sully nursed while EZ watched a mama deer resting in the shade and it was super peaceful and pretty.)
We stopped once for a picnic and then once more along the trail for some pictures since I brought the camera and figured it'd be a shame if we didn't use it. Plus, I love photos and selfies and nature, so it seemed like a win win win.
After our walk EZ decided the mountains were "ok" and he'd really rather play on bouncy houses than be in nature, so we stayed there to play for a while because I'm totally into exhausting children whatever it takes. I did see the bushes shake where a mama and baby moose were hanging out nearby, so that's cool. And the weather was beautiful and we watched the Tram go up and down a few times & promised EZ one day we'd ride it and he thought that was pretty cool. He also asked stuff like "Mom, are MOUNTAINS part of NATURE?" and "Is this place BirdSnow?" with his sweet voice and he also really really enjoyed when I let him pee on the side of the trail... it was good for us all to be there.
