mr. red, lay down your head.

Mr. Red has learned to stand, he pulls until his feet reach land.
He bounces and he sways so sweet, he points right down toward his feet.
He smiles and waves and shows no frown, holding tight so he won't fall down.
Yet there is a problem brewing strong, for Mr. Red has not stood long.
He does not know the way to sit, so he stands and stands and throws a fit.
Help me! Help me! he cries out loud. I need my mom, I'm not too proud!
Bedtime has not been very quick, as Mr. Red shows us his trick.
Up and up and up he goes, how many times? Nobody knows.
Please don't stand. Please, we say. But Mr. Red must always play.
We ask for sleep, we ask for bed, oh Mr. Red, lay down your head!
